A print begins as a drawing or painting on a flat block of wood - a lime block, plywood or even old furniture. This block is then carved with a variety of gouges and chisels before being covered with a very thin layer of oil-based colour-fast lithography ink. Fine Japanese paper is layed onto the inked block and its reverse is burnished to reveal the print. (Click an image to purchase that print ... please!)
